About the Speaker

Professor Samuel C.Y. Ku received his Ph.D. from the Ohio State University in June 1989. Professor Ku presently is professor (since August 2008) and director (since August 2011) at the Institute of China and Asia-Pacific Studies, National Sun Yat-Sen University in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Professor Ku’s major research interests include Southeast Asia’s political development, Taiwan’s relations with Southeast Asia, and China’s relations with Southeast Asia, comparative politics. Professor Ku has published more than ten Chinese books in Taiwan, edited two English books and more than fifty journal articles.  His English articles have appeared in such international journals as Asian Survey, Asian Perspective, Asian Profile, Asian Affairs, Contemporary Southeast Asia, Issues and Studies, Journal of Contemporary China, Journal of Asian and African Studies, World Affairs,  

 

About IR BINUS Lecture Series

International Relations Lecture Series is an initiative conducted by Department of International Relations, Binus University as a forum to diseminate creative ideas in the realm of international relations, business, and diplomacy. The series aims to invite distinguish scholars, policy makers, and businessman to share their ideas and experience to young people especially International Relations students. Previously, the IR Lecture Series has invited Indonesian Ambassador to EU, Mr. Arif Havas Oegroseno and US Diplomat, Mr. Jim Carouso.
