ABOUT ICOBIRD 2013
In 2013, Department of International Relations, Bina Nusantara University in collaboration with Association of Indonesia’s International Relations Scholars (AIHII) and Association of Indonesia’s Private Universities (APTISI) hosted the 2nd International Conference on Business, International Relations, and Diplomacy (ICOBIRD) 2013. The 2nd ICOBIRD 2013 was a continuation from the success of The 1st ICOBIRD: An ASEAN Context which was held on November 2012.
The 2nd ICOBIRD 2013 covers issue on institutional challenges towards ASEAN Community 2015. Institutional challenge is often regarded as one of the main challenges ASEAN must address in the upcoming ASEAN Community 2015. In particular, a synergy of cooperation amongst institution in local, national, and regional level will play a determining role in the success of ASEAN Community. It also includes several sub-topics related to International Relations, Business and Management, and Domestic Politics and ASEAN Community.
This conference invited two prominent scholars, one from Indonesia and one from Singapore as the keynote speakers. Associate Professor Leonard Sebastian from S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies and Prof. Yanyan M. Yani from University of Padjajaran, Indonesia were the two invited speakers that mastering issue on ASEAN studies. The combination of these two scholars made the discussion on plenary session more dynamic and fruitful.
The conference presents 17 papers that comprises of 110 papers from International Relations discipline, 6 papers from Business and Management discipline and 1 paper from legal discipline. The six papers are authored by faculty members from international and national prominent universities while eleven papers are wrote by faculty members of Bina Nusantara University.
