IR Binus Goes to Taiwan! Ready to Mingle: A Visit to Tamkang University
On our third day in Taiwan, accompanied by Ms. Paramitaningrum, Deputy Head of Global Class – and a graduate of the University – we visited Tamkang University. The University was founded in 1950 and was Taiwan’s first private college. Over the last 60 years, TKU emerged as a leading educational institution focusing on providing learning services with an innovative spirit. The campus is located in the beautiful Tamsui area surrounded by rivers, mountains, and the vibrant Tamsui Old Street.
Participants had a different experience in TKU as Prof. Ya-wen Yu, our host, asked them to join her class with her students. After Prof. Yu gave a brief lecture on the New Southbound Policy, she asked her students and immersion participants to exchange questions. Many of her students – both Taiwanese and international students – asked exciting and challenging questions mainly about Indonesia’s and participants’ opinions about Taiwan. The session was very dynamic, with our students gave interesting answers in response to those questions.
