Binus, Tec de Monterrey Students and Professors Discuss Proposal for Inclusion and Equity in the Pandemic Era
On 12–14 May 2022, students and professors from Bina Nusantara University and Tecnológico de Monterrey joined Global Week program, discussing how Indonesia and Mexico can draft an international cooperation proposal for the World Health Organization (WHO) to promote inclusion on public health in the COVID-19 pandemic era.
Tangguh Chairil and Dian Novikrisna from Binus’s International Relations Department as well as Nuril Kusumawardhani Soeprapto Putri and Hanny Juwitasary from Information Systems Binus’s Information Systems Department joined Juan Paul Farías-Peña and Susana Peña Parás from Tec de Monterrey to supervise the students.
35 students from Binus connected with 49 students from Tec de Monterrey in this program. Students were grouped into multicultural teams with each consisting of students from Binus and from Tec de Monterrey.
The Global Week program consisted of asynchronous activities on 12 and 14 May and synchronous activities on 13 May. On the 12th, students prepared before the session by reading and watching materials, as well as introduced themselves to their teammates. On the 13th, students listened to remarks by the professors. Tangguh Chairil of Binus delivered a remark about the concepts of inclusion and equity on public health, while Juan Paul Farías-Peña delivered about global challenges and international cooperation. Afterwards, students worked in teams to design the international cooperation proposals. On the 14th, students gave conclusion after the session.
