FPCI Chapter BINUS Hosts “Tea Time with Ambassador” with the Danish Embassy

Jakarta – On October 21st, Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia (FPCI) Chapter BINUS proudly hosted its annual Tea Time with Ambassador, an event designed to foster critical thinking among BINUS University students, particularly those studying International Relations. The event aims to engage students in an interactive dialogue on pressing international issues that shape global politics and media narratives. This platform facilitates in-depth discussions between students (members of FPCI Chapter BINUS) and esteemed speakers from various embassies of Indonesia’s friendly nations.

This year, FPCI Chapter BINUS visited the Embassy of Denmark, with an impressive 29 out of 40 FPCI BINUS members participating. The discussion, themed “The Nordic Welfare Model and Social Policies: A Discussion on Universal Access, Egalitarianism, and Sustainable Welfare Systems,” provided participants with insights into the Nordic approach to welfare. It focused on Denmark’s principles of universal access to services, equality, and sustainability—key pillars of the Nordic Welfare Model that aim to create a balanced, socially inclusive society.

The event featured H.E. Mr. Sten Frimodt Nielsen, Ambassador of Denmark to Indonesia, Malaysia, Timor-Leste, Papua New Guinea, and ASEAN, with Dr. Paramitaningrum, Deputy Head of the Global Class Program, Department of International Relations at BINUS, serving as moderator. Ambassador Nielsen not only elaborated on Denmark’s social policies but also shared personal anecdotes and insights, illustrating how Denmark harmonizes economic growth with a strong commitment to social welfare.

The discussion unfolded smoothly, enriching students with first-hand perspectives on a globally acclaimed social policy model. Tea Time with Ambassador remains a hallmark event for FPCI Chapter BINUS, continuing its mission to bridge BINUS students with influential voices on the world stage.
