About Miranda
Miranda P. Tahalele is a Subject Content Coordinator and Lecturer in the Department of International Relations, Faculty of Humanities, Bina Nusantara (BINUS) University. She is also managing director at Centre for Business and Diplomatic Studies (CBDS) and managing editor (part-time) at Journal of ASEAN Studies (JAS).
Her research focuses on the politics of international development cooperation, international political economy of development, gender and development, and the global dynamics of foreign aid, particularly in the context of Indonesia’s South–South Cooperation and North–South Relations.
Miranda holds a Ph.D. in Anthropology (Development Studies) from the Australian National University (ANU) as a recipient of the prestigious Australian Awards Scholarship (AAS). She also earned a Master of Arts in Peace Studies (Conflict Resolution) from the University of Bradford, UK, and a Bachelor of Political Science in International Relations from Parahyangan Catholic University.
Beyond academia, she has extensive experiences in international cooperation and policy research. Contributed as a consultant and development practitioner for various institutions, including the Ministry of Women Empowerment and Child Protection (for G20 and ASEAN), the Ministry of National Development Planning (BAPPENAS), KFW, UNDP, UNESCAP, Search for Common Ground (SFCG), and the Centre for East Indonesian Affairs (CEIA).
