This research is also a manifestation of the MOU between Binus and the Geospatial Information Agency (BIG) This project focuses on the service of the Department of International Relations to stakeholders of the central government and especially the regions by developing and strengthening international cooperation models to strengthen the potential of Binus-Fostered Tourism through the promotion and diplomacy of village tourism based on geospatial spatial planning information and stakeholder management platforms. This model was created as a result of collaboration with industry partners Cartenz (e-governments) and Ratapai (Split Payment). 1. Program Dana Padanan (KEDAIREKA) Kemendikbudikti
  • Title: Development of Strategies and Instruments to Strengthen the International Role of Local Governments for Regional Economic Strengthening (Pengembangan Strategi dan Instrument Penguatan Peran International Pemerintah Daerah untuk Penguatan Ekonomi Daerah
  • Project Description: The partnership between the Department of International Relations of BINUS and the Directorate of Regional Development Monitoring, Evaluation, and Control (PEPPD) – BAPPENAS has been carried out smoothly based on the planning of activities prepared jointly between the two parties. In implementation, the partnership was carried out well, without many obstacles, because of the commitment of both in carrying out activity planning. In the FGD/Workshop and Survey process, the Directorate of PEPPD also facilitated activities by issuing invitations to all Bappeda networks and Regional Cooperation Bureaus to be involved in activities. However, indeed, only part of the Bappeda/Regional Cooperation Bureau is involved because the urgency of the issue is directly intersecting with the interests of their respective regions. In addition, the time of activities is quite short because the funding transfer was only received in September, making some activities unable to be carried out such as Closures and Public Tests. Furthermore, the Directorate of PEPPD has also facilitated internships so that students have real experience outside the campus. In addition, students also do internships in the Department of International Relations BINUS to support the implementation of Kedaireka activities carried out by 5 lecturers in the department. In the use of the budget, commitment is also shown by the allocation of Bappenas which exceeds the initial allocation, because several things include cost allocation, especially related to the involvement of PEPPD Directorate staff which has also increased. It can be concluded that this partnership is going well, where both parties plan to continue to develop their partnership both within the framework of Kedaireka and in strategic partnerships between other Governments-Universities.
2. Penelitian Internasional BINUS (PIB)
  • Title: Financing Development in Southeast Asian Countries
  • Brief Description: To achieve development targets and priorities, countries utilized several mechanisms to finance their development programs. In the case of developing countries, modalities of developing finance varied according to the available funds. Several major development programs such as infrastructures, environment, agriculture, special economic areas, and others, have been identified and implemented to be financed from specific financial modalities, including through foreign aid and loan programs, bonds, blended finance, public-private partnership, and others. With these various models of development financing available from numerous national and international financial agencies available, governments become more aware of the opportunities that they have to expand their economic growth. This research intends to identify, map, and analyze the existing mechanism of development financing available in the three countries in ASEAN, which are Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand. This will capture understanding and reveal the actors, modalities, issues, and source of funding to finance development programs. It will question what the existing models of development financing are applied in these three countries, and how the link between actors, issues, and source of funds derives the modalities of development financing. This research will also find the gaps, challenges and opportunities that countries have in deriving specific modalities to support its development targets and policy.
