BINUS IR’s First Talent Pool Program Reaps Achievements
Talent Pool is one of the initiative programs of the BINUS University Department of International Relations which aims to gather students who have talent and interest in the International Relations department in improving student achievement in both the academic and non-academic fields. One of the agendas is to participate in the Model United Nations (MUN) Competition held by the National University of Singapore (NUS) on 6-9 June 2023. MUN is a competition that is closely related to intelligence and skills in mastering International Relations from both theoretical and practical aspects.
The Talent Pool has been trying to create an ecosystem of recruiting, training and competitive inclusion for the past year and a half. At the end of the second half of the year, the talent pool has been able to increase achievements in the international MUN academic field at the MUN NUS Competition. NUS has carried out its 20th MUN this year. In 20 years, the Singapore Model United Nations (SMUN) has become one of the leading and best Model UN conferences in the Asia-Pacific region with high standards and reputation.
On this occasion, BINUS International Relations managed to include 2 students on behalf of: 1. Ayisha Iman Rahman (2501977992), 2. Amanda Siman (2501989941). Ayisha Iman Rahman managed to get an award as an Honorable Mention or Third Place.
It is hoped that this talent pool activity can be further strengthened by selecting talented students and training them programmatically with the alumni and seniority coaching method so that the stock of outstanding students in the HI major will be sustainable and able to increase BINUS International Relations recognition. It is hoped that in the following years HI BINUS can participate at a higher level such as at Oxford or Harvard MUN. So that the Talent Pool with the encouragement of the Initiative project becomes synergized to increase the strength of BINUS students, especially HI, both from a theoretical and practical aspect, to become a leader in the National MUN competition and an important player in the prestigious International MUN at MUN NUS, Oxford and Harvard University.
This achievement is one of the HI majoring programs with the 2023 Initiative Project from BINUS University.
