Apply for a PhD at BGSS in Berlin!

Dear young researcher in the social sciences,
I would like to draw your attention to the opportunity of doing your PhD at the Berlin Graduate School of Social Sciences with funding by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). The BGSS serves as the platform for international graduate training at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin’s Department of Social Sciences and offers a 3-year programme for doctoral researchers interested in problems of democracy and social inclusion. The BGSS program is bi-disciplinary, merging perspectives from political science and sociology (for more information please visit www.bgss.hu-berlin.de).
The next application round for the fall semester 2014 is about to start (the deadline will be January 10). At the same time deadlines for funding from DAAD beginning in fall 2014 are approaching as well. DAAD offers PhD scholarships for candidates wanting to pursue a PhD at a German university and especially at a structured PhD-programme such as BGSS. In order to check requirements and application procedures please visit the DAAD scholarship database and select your country from the drop-down menu on the left. In case you want to apply for a DAAD scholarship in order to pursue your PhD studies at BGSS, our staff will be glad to help you obtaining institutional support by checking your eligibility and by
issuing a letter of support which is necessary for a DAAD application.
