Geopolitical & Geoeconomic Risks: Strategies for Sustainability in the Uncertain World

About the Event

The 14th International Conference on Business, International Relations, and Diplomacy (ICOBIRD) 2025 will be held on 20 August 2025, at BINUS University, Alam Sutera Campus. This year, we invite you to join an in-depth conversation on one of the most pressing global issues: navigating sustainability amid rising geopolitical and geoeconomic risks.

Under the theme “Geopolitical & Geoeconomic Risks: Strategies for Sustainability in the Uncertain World,” ICOBIRD 2025 will examine how global power rivalries, economic fragmentation, and strategic disruptions are redefining international relations. The conference seeks to critically explore how international institutions, state and non-state actors, and regional frameworks adapt their strategies to confront climate imperatives, digital transformations, and emerging asymmetries in global governance.

ICOBIRD 2025 will provide a space for reflection and collaboration among scholars, policymakers, and practitioners to develop resilient and inclusive responses that align security, cooperation, and sustainability goals.

Scope of the Conference

We invite contributions that provide fresh theoretical insights and empirical case studies from across the globe, particularly in the following areas:

  • Geopolitical rivalries, strategic competition, and shifts in global power
  • Business risks related to trade, finance, infrastructure, and supply chains
  • Technological transformations and their implications for international cooperation
  • Climate change, environmental security, and sustainable development
  • The impact of digital technologies on sovereignty, and security
  • Regionalism, multilateralism, and new governance frameworks in a fragmented world
  • Global South perspectives on development, innovation, and resistance
  • Theoretical and methodological innovations in International Relations and International Political Economy
